After having their worst year since 2018, European stock markets had an almost 1% increase on the first trading day of 2023, driven by increases in technology and energy equities.
Investors anticipated new triggers for 2023, but trade volume is anticipated to remain muted since some important markets are still closed for the New Year's holiday.
