U.S. Markets Down On Tuesday After Inflation Numbers Released, European Stocks Mixed

U.S. markets closed lower on Tuesday, amid inflationary pressures. Inflation continues to be on the rise in the United States with wholesale prices posting a year-on-year record of 9.6% in November, according to date releases by the government on Tuesday.


Meanwhile, European stock markets did not follow the positives of the increase in annual industrial production, closing mixed.

  • FTSE MIB 30 in Italy: +5 points, or 0.02%, to end the day at 26,556

  • IBEX 35 in Spain: +55 points, or 0.67%, to close at 8,378

  • Dollar index: 0.24 or 0.25% at 96.56 as of Dec 14, 2021 at 5:38 p.m. EST
